Part Number: AAP-989
This extraordinary flint lock, .45 caliber Lehigh Valley longrifle, bears the signature of Allen Martin, whose fine longrifles are highly collectible, and appreciated for their quality, artistic merit, and correct details. Stocked in curly maple this slender rifle is trimmed in brass furniture, both stock and furniture have been given an antique finish to match the lock and barrel. The lock and barrel have a dark pewter gray appearance with a light speckled patina, that nicely contrasts with the stain on the curly maple stock. The top flat of the barrel is signed A + Martin. This rifle has a few marks on the frizzen face from sparking, but is otherwise as-new unfired.

The heart of this classic golden age era fullstock flint rifle is its .45 caliber octagon-to-round barrel. The barrel is thickest at the breech, tapers to a single wedding band and flares gently at the muzzle to bring the sights on the same plane. Measuring 46" in length the barrel was cut rifled by Getz Barrel Company with seven groove radius rifling with a slow twist for a tightly patched round ball. The bore of the gun is mirror bright, ready to shoot.

Weighing in at 8.3 pounds the gun has a trigger reach of 13-3/4" making it perfectly suited for today's average size shooters.

Part Number: AAQ-005
Signed by contemporary builder R Ulin, this Kentucky pistol is stocked in curly maple with brass furniture and silver wire inlay. The brass furniture has a dark aged patina. Used, the pistol has some handling marks in the stock, marks on the frizzen face, and a bright spot on the breech where the frizzen just touches the side flat. The lock on this pistol is in need of repair and will not safely engage the fullcock or half cock notch.

The .45 caliber by 11" octagon-to-round barrel has a 4-1/2" octagon breech with a single wedding band to round. The .45 caliber bore is rifled with eight lands and grooves. The bore is bright and appears well maintained. The brown finish on the barrel shows some bright spots from normal wear.

This pistol uses an early Palmetto flintlock, which is in need of repair. The frizzen has some fore and aft play. The lock is also missing the fly detent in the tumbler and has a weak sear spring. The full and half cock notches on the tumbler have been filed, so the sear nose will not reliably or safely engage the notches. This pistol uses a single set trigger, push the trigger forward to engage the set trigger..

The direct drilled vent hole is positioned correctly above the pan, but no vent liner is installed.

Part Number: AAN-099
This German Jaeger is stocked in English walnut, and trimmed in brass furniture. The walnut stock is decorated with raised carving, and a sliding wood patchbox.

The R.E. Davis lock is hand burnished bright and contrasts nicely against the stock and barrel. The large caliber swamped barrel makes this rifle both lightweight and handy, exactly what a German hunter would find desirable. The rifle is signed by contemporary builder T. Hardy on the top flat of the barrel.

The .62 caliber 31" swamped barrel was cut rifled with a 1 in 66" twist by Colerain Barrel Company. Colerain rifle barrels are the favorite choice of today's best muzzle loading gun makers, because knowledgeable shooters demand Colerain's accuracy, inside and outside. Colerain rifle barrels are drilled from solid steel, cut rifled .012" to .016" deep depending on caliber, with six “round bottom" grooves. Called “radius groove rifling", Colerain eliminates the sharp inside corner that accumulates fouling. Radius groove rifling cutters are a bit more expensive to make, but Colerain's customers agree that the accuracy, easy loading, and easy cleaning are worth the cost.

John Philip Beck was the preeminent gunsmith in this region from the late 1770's until his death in 1811. This fine trade rifle by contemporary maker D. A. Hoffman is styled after the Lancaster County Pennsylvania rifles made for the Indian fur trade in the 1830's and 1840's. You can find examples of the antique rifles showcased in the book For Trade and Treaty. Not a copy of a specific rifle, similarly styled rifles were made by the Gumpf family of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania for the American Fur Company, private fur traders and the commercial market. This .54 caliber longrifle would make a great hunting rifle and is appropriate for many frontier and native historical portrayals.

This .54 caliber trade rifle features a curly maple full stock with early style checkered wrist, Jim Chamber's large Siler flint lock, and engraved brass furniture. Built by contemporary builder D.A. Hoffman, this fine rifle displays excellent workmanship and a mastery of longrifle architecture. It is offered used, with very few minor handling marks in the stock.

The heart of the rifle is a 42" by 15/16" straight octagon .54 caliber Green Mountain barrel. The cut rifled barrel has eight equal lands and grooves with a 1 in 70" twist for a tightly patched round ball. Green Mountain Muzzle Loading Rifle Barrels are machined from high quality American made bar stock, A.I.S.I. 1137 modified, stress relieved, annealed, certified rifle barrel quality steel. All barrels are drilled from solid stock, reamed to a high degree of smoothness, then optically checked for straightness. Very close tolerances are maintained. Part Number: AAP-986
This Kentucky pistol is stocked in curly maple, stained honey brown with golden undertones, and features relief carving. The pistol has a great primitive appearance and the straight octagon Green Mountain barrel and flintlock have an antique patina. Hand made by contemporary builder Don Dickey.

The 12" straight 7/8" octagon Green Mountain Barrel has been browned. The finish shows wear with many bright spots throughout the finish. The .50 caliber bore is mirror bright, cut rifled with eight lands and grooves with a fast twist ideal for a patched round ball. The barrel is fitted with a dovetailed silver blade front sight and a flat top rear sight dovetailed into the barrel. The front silver sight has been painted black and has a small nick on the top of it.

Ignition is provided by a Siler flint lock. This lock has the long pointed tail, raised lock plate with chamfered edges, and filed molding across the tail, similar to styles used during the 1750 - 1780 flint lock era. The lock has an aged appearance to match the barrel. The lock functions as it should and sparks great! The trigger is pinned high for a smooth release. The trigger plate does stand a little proud of the stock in areas.

Fast ignition is assured by the stainless vent liner, positioned well above the bottom of the pan, centered on the heat of the flash. A vent liner brings the main powder charge very close to the center of your priming flash. Study the work of today's best gun makers, and position your vent well centered on the pan, high above the bottom, to serve as a window on the center of the flash.

The tapered octagon-to-round barrel by Colerain Barrel Company is 46" length, smooth bored .730" and polished bright inside. If you hunt waterfowl with this gun, we recommend the new bismuth shot. Although more costly than steel shot, bismuth loads and shoots like lead shot, but is approved for hunting ducks and geese. No special wads or buffers are required for bismuth.

Weighing in at 11.1 pounds the musket has a trigger reach of 13-1/2" making it well suited for today's average size shooter and reenactor.
